Bioinformatics Unit
The Bioinformatics Unit specializes in simple or complex investigations that aim to shed light on the non-coding genome or to prioritize coding and non-coding RNAs & variants.
It’s Directed by Dr. Ioannis Vlachos and comprises Bioinformaticians and Computational Biologists with extensive experience in non-coding RNA research.
The Services offered by the unit include but are not limited to:
Analysis of single-cell or bulk Next Generation Sequencing experiments or other high throughput techniques to:
-
Identify and prioritize coding non-coding RNAs as biomarkers and/or therapeutic targets
-
Perform functional characterization of coding and non-coding genes
-
Identify ncRNA targets and interactors
-
Detect non-coding variants affecting gene expression or clinically-relevant phenotypes
Grant development (providing bioinformatics support, experimental design, and preliminary data development) for applications focused on non-coding RNAs.
Consultation and support for non-coding RNA biology and research.
